Rosie Watuna's Story March 6th, 2022

Rosie is from North Kivu, Goma, Congo. She moved to the US when she was in fifth grade and is now is in 11th grade at Alhambra High School in Phoenix. Rosie talks about her last days in her home country and shares how her father inspired her to leave her homeland to find a better life. She was 5 years old when she moved into the refugee camp where she lived for over nine years. She tells about the impact of voodoo and how it might be used. Rosie speaks about the pain of losing her mother to a tumor. She closes by telling her dream to be a family therapist to help her African people who have been traumatized by their past experiences.
