Annual Recognition Ceremony 2020 for Refugees and Immigrants: March 5

Safed House will hold our annual ceremony for essay contest winners on March 5, 2020 at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be held at Alhambra High School, located at 3839 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85019
Safed House is a 501 ( c)(3) non-profit that provides a welcoming place for refugees and recent immigrants to share their stories. Our goal is to develop a culturally sensitive space for refugees to find voice in the American tapestry.
The winners for the 2019 contest to be recognized in this event are:
1st Place: Samreen Jamil, a Pakistani immigrant
2nd place: Kholoud Hussein, a Syrian refugee
Safed House will present videos based on interviews with the winners. These videos have been produced in partnership with the Faculty and Students of UAT Digital Video.
Runners up: Francisco Valenzuela Angel, a Mexican immigrant, Lillian Sabuni, a Congolese refugee and Eh Paw, a refugee with roots in Burma, will also be recognized.
